Lionel Talaro

Educated at Art Center in Pasadena and the Art Institute at Calabasas, Lionel began his career as a freelance illustrator in 1992. Having been influenced by past masters such as NC Wyeth, John Singer Sargent and Thomas Blackshear; Lionel carried on a tradition of painting with dynamic composition and color palette. His painting subjects are showcased in dramatic lighting, color with attention to amazing detail. Having a story to tell in each painting is an important part of his painting process.  He has a passion for music and will find many of his subjects are music related.

Lionel continued to work in the commercial industry and gained notoriety with projects for Disney, Darkhorse Publishers, Anheuser Busch, 20th Century Fox, and many more.  In 2002 Lionel began to exhibit in galleries and gained momentum with collectors and commission clients nationwide. Finding more and more galleries were wanting to exhibit his works, Lionel decided to become a full-time fine artist and is now in private collections and galleries worldwide.

Lionel lives and paints at his home in La Mesa, CA.  You can usually find him working in his studio day and night.  "No sleep till Brooklyn" is a mantra with Lionel.  Instilled into him by one of his teachers.  He finds painting is a way of life.  He is available for commission paintings of any subject matter with original works on display at Agora Galleries in San Diego.
